Joyabaj is a town located 93.9 km north west of Guatemala City, the town fair starts on August 8 and lasts a week. Locals celebrate the occasion in honor of “La Virgen del Tránsito” the town patron.
During the celebration different dance troupes gather at the town square where they perform different local dances including, “El Vendao”, “Los Mexicanos”, “La Conquista” among others.
